Donnie Darko opening

After watching the opening to 'Donnie Darko' we were given an idea of a technique that we could try using in our film. Here the director has transferred the non-diagetic song playing as Donnie is riding his bike into diagetic sound coming from the kitchen radio.

As our film is aimed at a younger audience we plan to include a track from a popular music artist with a young fanbase. After wathing this clip we are going to use the song as non diagetic playing music over the top of one character as she walks home and then have it transfer into diagetic sound coming from another persons car CD player as the scene changes, in order to convey that the scene is continued from the previous one, with no time difference.
